The Sedona Village Rotary Community Garden

The Sedona Village Rotary Community Garden is a thriving resource built by Rotarians, volunteers, and Master Gardeners. Established in 2020 at Big Park Community School, it features 23 raised beds for annual community adoption and dedicated plots for food banks. A vibrant pollinator habitat attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds while showcasing sustainable desert gardening. Each year, the garden grows over 1,000 pounds of fresh vegetables for local food banks, directly improving regional food security. Through shared effort and sustainable education, this green space strengthens community connections and provides vital nutrition to Verde Valley neighbors in need.

Enjoy Free Garden Lectures

As a special feature, Certified Yavapai County Master Gardener Karen Kumar will present three educational garden lectures (approximately 30 minutes each). Attend one or all three!

9 a.m. - Fall and Winter Gardening
You can grow vegetables in the Fall & Winter in the Verde Valley.  Learn what to plant in the
cool season, how to prepare your garden and protect plants and soil from the elements.

11 a.m. - 10 Steps to a Successful Vegetable Garden
Gardening with vegetables can be fun and can provide delicious and highly nutritious fresh
food. A few plants or a large plot will give rewarding experiences for both young and old. Learn
how to successfully get your garden started or keep an established one going strong.

1 p.m. - Bugs and Birds
Insects and birds are deeply connected in a vital, co-evolved relationship. Bugs serve as a
protein-dense food source for many birds—especially during migration and nesting season,
while birds act as essential natural pest control and pollinators for the environment.

Have a specific garden problem? A Master Gardener Information Table will also be on-site all day to help answer your plaguing gardening questions.
