Become an Ambassador
The Arizona State 4-H Youth Ambassador Program (State 4-H Ambassadors) is the premier youth leadership development opportunity in Arizona 4-H. The State 4-H Ambassador program provides 4-H teen leaders with the opportunity to advocate for 4-H youth, represent Arizona 4-H, and develop as generational leaders. The team consists of seven highly qualified 4-H State 4-H Ambassadors selected annually from a pool of statewide applicants. The State 4-H Ambassadors will work closely together as a collaborative team to help lead 4-H statewide leadership initiatives. Additionally, each will provide mentorship and leadership specific to their areas of expertise. State 4-H Ambassadors have the unique opportunity to make a significant difference and help steer the course of 4-H programming throughout our state.
All applicants will be notified by May 9th if they will have the opportunity for an interview with the State 4-H Ambassador selection committee. Please be sure to check your email for your notifications.

Application Components
- General Information
- Name, county, preferred Ambassador position, etc.
- 4-H Resume and Cover Letter
- The Arizona 4-H State Ambassador program is meant to build leadership experiences and life skills. So this year as a part of the application process, we would like each applicant to create a resume and cover letter catered to 4-H.
- If you have limited experience with these, we have attached a template of a resume and a example cover letter. In your 4-H Resume, you should use bulleted points to highlight key achievements in past leadership roles or organizational Involvement. See here for more resources _______________
- In the 4-H Cover Letter, we are interested in hearing more about how 4-H has shaped your life experience so far and where you hope for it to lead you in the future. Focus on what you would like to do as an ambassador. This is typically one page in length (3 paragraphs). See here for more resources _______________
- Letters of Recommendation
- One of the letters of recommendation needs to be from a 4-H-related person, including a leader, county agent, or county staff member. The second can be from any person who you feel knows you well and can speak to your leadership capabilities. (Neither of the references can be completed by a family member).

Interviews
In-person interviews will be held May 19th, TBD Location (Exceptions can be made beforehand for extenuating circumstances). Applicants are expected to wear business/professional attire. The interview will be conducted by a committee of 4-H staff and volunteers. Applicants will be asked a series of questions (Ex, Tell us about yourself or what 4-H means to you).
Each applicant will give a 3-5 minute prepared speech based on the following Scenario: The State ambassadors have been tasked with raising $100 within two months. Create a plan with a timeline and specific goals/ideas of how you will complete this task.
