Family Resource Centers are coming to Cochise County

The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension is creating Family Resource Centers in Cochise County to support families with children ages 0–5. Join the mailing list to get updates about locations, programs and events.

What are Family Resource Centers?

Family Resource Centers are welcoming spaces where families can connect with other parents and caregivers and access vital services. While programming varies by location, many offer parenting classes, parent-child activities, child developmental screening and community events. Families can also connect with local support groups for food, housing, and child care.

Why are Family Resource Centers important for Arizona?

Arizona families are often overwhelmed and under-resourced, and many do not know where to turn for help. Providers also lack systematic ways to connect these families with support, especially in underserved rural areas.

Resource centers are welcoming, non-stigmatizing community hubs where families can build social networks, learn about parenting and healthy lifestyles, access early childhood sensory screenings and get referrals for help with food, housing and child care.
